First Mode is seeking to add new early career members to its electrical systems team that have strong capabilities for working these types of problems within a constrained, fast-paced environment. Applicants from all industries are welcome, with particular emphasis in complex, multi-disciplinary system developments. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Represent the electrical systems design team during the early definition and scoping phases of a development effort

  • Able to contribute across major domains of electrical engineering, such as power, digital, embedded, and control.

  • Research and develop electrical system solutions designed to work within larger, multi-disciplinary systems

  • Develop electrical system products and systems to solve customer challenges, and see these elements through build, test, integration, and operation. 

  • Develop specifications for project partners or vendors, then assist in the management and delivery of these external efforts

  • Willingness to travel within the United States and internationally to represent First Mode to its customers, vendors, and partners

Qualifications

  • BS or higher-level degree in electrical engineering or similar field

  • Demonstrated experience in life-cycle development of electrical system hardware within a complex system or product

  • Thorough understanding of electronic systems and component materials

  • Proficient in electrical circuit analysis and analytical tools 

  • Proficient in Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools

  • Good systems thinking

  • Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions

  • Ability to write and speak clearly about technical subject matter

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced, dynamic, small team environment

Location

  • This position will be located at First Mode’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington
