On July 28, First Mode president and CEO Chris Voorhees will speak alongside Ana Pinto da Silva, CEO of Minka, and Ali H. Mokdad, Ph.D., chief strategy officer of Population Health at the University of Washington, as part of Seattle’s 12th annual Innovation Exchange event presented by the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI).

The Innovation Exchange features thought leaders and organizations that embody a spirit of innovation and drive the advancement of science, technology, and industry in our region. Proceeds from the event help fund MOHAI’s support of local innovation and imagination, including regional K-12 education programs.

The 2021 Innovation Exchange explores the process of innovating solutions to present-day challenges through the lens of Leonardo da Vinci, who laid the groundwork for some of the modern world’s most impactful inventions and feats of engineering. The programming is inspired by MOHAI’s newest exhibit, Da Vinci—Inventions, opening to the public on July 31.

A special in-person event with limited seating will be held at 3 p.m., and includes an opportunity to meet the speakers as well as a sneak peek at the new Da Vinci—Inventions exhibit. The event will also be streamed free online starting at 4 p.m.: Attendees will hear stories of local challenges and innovative solutions from the three featured innovators making an impact in our community and beyond.
