First Mode’s Dr. Elizabeth Frank will speak on a panel titled “New Insights for Enabling In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) of Lunar Water” at the ASCEND 2021 conference, held virtually online and in person in Las Vegas, NV.

The collaborative session will be hosted by Lockheed Martin space organizer Steven Shepard and seeks to answer the question: “What will it take to design solutions that can find and use water on the moon to establish a permanent human presence?” Dr. Frank will be joined by other experts on lunar water utilization, including professors from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, University of Notre Dame, and University of Michigan, and representatives from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Lockheed Martin Space.
